Terracciano Tallies Two, Rangers Defeat Bulldogs

MADISON, N.J. (September 17, 2011) The Rangers improved to 4-3 on the year with a 3-0 win over DeSales (1-4) this afternoon at Ranger Stadium. Freshman Angela Terracciano (Keansburg, N.J./Raritan) scored two first-half goals to lead the Drew attack.
The Rangers, who are unbeaten in regulation in 2011, opened up the scoring just 2:07 into the game with the first of Terracciano's goals. Sophomore Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold, Twp.) delivered a hard pass that Terraciano redirected into the corner of the cage.
Terraciano found herself in perfect position a little over eight minutes later when Mary Esposito (Woolwich Twp. N.J/Kingsway Regional) ripped a shot that Terraciano tipped in on the near post for her fourth goal of the year.
Meghan Howlett (Garwood, N.J. /Arthur L. Johnson), the reigning Landmark Conference Player of the Week, added the final Ranger goal in the 37th minute off a pass from Melissa Boyd (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley).
Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) played all 70 minutes in front of the cage for the Rangers and delivered her third career shutout. The sophomore made seven saves for her second victory of the fall.
Drew will be back in action next Saturday when they open up conference play when they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa. to face Susquehanna. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
