Box Score
MADISON, N.J. (September 27, 2011) – The Rangers scored once in each half in a 2-0 win over William Paterson (1-8) earlier this evening. The Rangers have now won five of their last six contests and improve to 6-3 on the year.

After being denied on their first five shots of the game the Rangers broke the Pioneer defense in the 27th minute on a perfectly placed strike by Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold, Twp.). Senior Meghan Howlett (Garwood, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) was credited with her fourth assist of the year that helped Drew capture the early, 1-0 lead.

The Ranger defense however would not be broken. Drew goalkeeper Christiana Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) played all 70 minutes in the cage, making two saves. Late in the second half defender, Hannah Rau (Hallowell, Maine/Hall-Dale) helped preserve the shutout with her second defensive save of the season.

Howlett extended the Ranger lead with her third point of the night and her sixth goal of the season in the 45th minute. The senior midfielder now leads the Rangers with six goals and 16 points on the season.

The Rangers will play the second game of their three-game homestand on Thursday when they welcome in Washington College for a non-conference bout at 7:00 p.m.
