Box Score ALLENTOWN, Pa.(November 17, 2012) – A balanced Arcadia (1-1) attack led by Khalief Trawick's game-high 17 points, helped the Knights over Drew (0-2) this afternoon, 68-48 in the consolation game of the Scotty Wood Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg College.
The combination of Trawick, Colin McCarthy and Aaron Lee-Webb accounted for 39 of the 68 Arcadia points and was too much to handle for the Ranger defense. McCarthy was 5-of-7 from the floor scoring 12 points while Lee-Webb added 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting.
Junior
John Ford (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) led the way for the Rangers scoring 11 points, with nine of them coming from behind the 3-point line. Ford also had a game-high seven rebounds in 28 minutes of play.
Arcadia never trailed in the contest and took a 28-20 lead into halftime. The Rangers pulled within five points over the first five minutes of the second half but eight-straight points by the Knights midway through the frame would ultimately seal Drew's fate. The Rangers never got the Arcadia lead under 10 points for the remainder of the game.
For the second night in a row the Rangers were victims of high-percentage shooting by their opponents. Arcadia shot 47 percent from the floor compared to 32 percent by the Rangers. The Knights also held a significant edge on the boards, outrebounding the Rangers, 48-25.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Ford was named to the All-Tournament Team. The third-year Ranger had 22 points and 13 rebounds in two games at the Scotty Wood Tournament.
Oddly enough the two non-conference opponents will square off again on Tuesday night in Glenside, Pa. The opening tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
