Knights Drop Rangers for Second Time in Four Days

Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. (November 20, 2012) – In a rare back-to-back non-conference battle, Arcadia (2-1) bested Drew (0-3) for the second time in four days by the score of 85-65 in Alumni Gymnasium. The two teams squared off in the consolation of the Scotty Wood Tournament on Saturday afternoon with the Knights coming away with 68-48 win.

The balanced Arcadia attack included four players in double figures, highlighted by Joseph Brown who led all scorers with 21. Khalief Trawick put forth another solid effort against the Rangers adding 14 points. Freshman Mike Klinger (Franklin Park, N.J./Rutgers Prep) was the only Drew player in double figures, scoring 12 points courtesy of four, 3-pointers.

Midway through the first half, freshman Wally Sajimi (Teaneck, N.J./DePaul Catholic) tied the game up on a jumper to make the score 14-14. The Knights then rattled off the next 14 points over the next four minutes to open up a 28-14 lead. The Knights would not give up the lead for the remainder of the contest and took 14 point lead into halftime.

The Drew shooting improved dramatically in the second half as the Rangers made nearly half their shots The hot shooting would not be enough to chip away at the Arcadia lead as the Knights outscored the Rangers 43-37 in the final 20 minutes.
The Knights dominated the glass, holding a 46-24 edge in rebounds. The Rangers won the turnover battle, giving the ball away only 12 times compared to 14 by Arcadia.

Junior Luke Glass (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) was 3-of-9 from the field good for nine points. Sophomore Chris Capelli (Manasquan, N.J./Manasquan) had a career-high eight points in 12 minutes of play.

The Rangers will open up their home schedule on Saturday as they welcome Hunter College to Baldwin Gym. The tip is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Madison.
