POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (February 26, 2012) – The Drew men's tennis team opened up its dual match schedule today with a 9-0 loss on the road at the hands of Vassar College. The Brewers have owned the matchup of late, winning the last five battles against the Rangers.
Vassar (7-1) won all three doubles matches handedly, 8-4, 8-1 and 8-5. In third doubles,
Djedjy Hill (Haiti/Rancocas Valley Regional) and
Ryan Johnson (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) came the closest by winning five sets.
The Brewers were dominant in singles play, winning all but one match in straight sets. Hill took Christian Lyon to a third set tiebreaker in number five doubles, eventually losing, 10-8.
The Rangers will return home on Thursday to take on New York University at 4:30 p.m.
