MADISON, N.J. (March 29, 2012) – The Rangers won their third straight match this afternoon with a 9-0 rout of cross-street rival Fairleigh Dickinson (1-5). The Rangers improve to 3-4 on the year and remain unbeaten all-time against the Devils with a 10-0 record.
The Rangers won all three doubles matches to start off the day including an 8-0 shutout at the second position. Senior
Matt Brisotti (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) and
Matt Imbo (Islip, N.Y./Islip) recorded their fourth tandem victory of the year with the shutout.
The Rangers cruised in singles play with six, straight-set victories. Junior
Djedjy Hill (Haiti/Rancocas Valley) emerged victorious is a 7-6, 10-7 draw against Kevin Kotsak at fourth singles.
Reigning Landmark Conference player of the Week,
Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) defeated Andrew Scamporino, 6-1, 6-0 in number one singles. He and his brother, Elliot Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) won their fourth doubles match of the season with an 8-5 win over Ryan Kearns and Mitch Gettis.
The Rangers will be on the road on Saturday when they travel to Towson, Md. for a Landmark Conference match with Goucher at 1:00 p.m.
