MADISON, N.J. (April 10, 2012) – The College of New Jersey (5-4) won for the seventh-straight time over Drew (5-5) this afternoon with a 5-4 victory on the Drew Tennis Courts. The Rangers fell behind 2-1 in doubles play and were unable to recover in singles.

Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) and Elliot Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead with an 8-6 win in number one singles. The victory improves the duo to 7-1 on the season.

In singles play, Raul Smego and Elliot Smego also provided wins for the Rangers in the number one position and number four position respectively. Raul Smego won in three sets over TJ Riley 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 and Elliot Smego pulled out a straight sets victory over Stewart Fernandez, 6-2, 6-3.

Senior Matt Brisotti (Mattituck, N.Y./Mattituck) gave the Rangers the only other win in the match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Howard Telson.

The Rangers will return to Landmark Conference play on Thursday when they take on Merchant Marine in King's Point, N.Y.
