Box Score ANNVILLE, Pa. (September 13, 2012) – Lebanon Valley (1-3) recorded its first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Drew (4-1) this afternoon. The Dutchmen who came into the season ranked 16
th in the Penn Monto / NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll
, fell out of the top 20 this week after three losses to start the season.
The Dutchmen wasted little time capturing the first lead of the game, scoring in the fourth minute of the contest on a goal by Caitlin Vasey. Neither team got on the scoreboard for the rest of the half but Lebanon Valley held a 6-3 advantage in shots.
The Rangers held off a charging Lebanon Valley for the first 15 minutes of the second half thanks to solid goalkeeping from
CC Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin). The sophomore netminder made four consecutive saves to open the frame and her offense rewarded her in the 51
st minute.

Bea Cannavale (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) setup a breakaway goal for sophomore
Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Twp.). Gagliano has registered a score in each of her last four games.
The tie game did not last long as Lebanon Valley retook the lead just 16 seconds later on Lydee Sheaffer's first goal of the season. The Dutchmen went on to outshoot the Rangers 21-6 in the contest and 15-3 in the second half. Carlini made 10 of her 13 saves in the final 35 minutes.
Drew will be back at home this Saturday in the field hockey edition of the Battle of Madison Ave. The Rangers will square off against cross-street rival Fairleigh Dickinson at 1:00 p.m. in Ranger Stadium.
