Box Score MADISON, N.J. (September 22, 2012) – Drew (5-2, 1-0 Landmark) opened up Landmark Conference play with a 7-1 victory over Susquehanna (2-6, 0-1 Landmark) this afternoon in Ranger Stadium. Junior Brooke Gagliano (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Twp.) netted her first career hat trick with a trio of goals in the first half.

Gagliano scored three of the Rangers first four goals including the game's opening goal just 3:58 into the contest. Senior Sami Calabrese (Dover, N.H./Dover) scored her first goal of the fall in the 10^th minute to give Drew a 2-0 advantage. Both of the Rangers first two goals were assisted by Bea Cannavale (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) who ended up with three on the day. She now has a conference-leading, eight assists on the year.

Susquehanna got on the scoreboard in the 23^rd minute on a unassisted goal from Ally Bradley.  Gagliano sent the Rangers into halftime with a 4-1 lead on her third goal of the game with just under four minutes to play in the half. Drew owned a 15-3 advantage in shots in the first 35 minutes of play.

Junior goalkeepers CC Carlini (Amherst, N.H./Bishop Guertin) and Sarah Stewart (Shavertown, Pa./Dallas) combined for a second half shutout to help preserve the victory. Carlini made six saves in nearly 60 minutes of work.

Drew's leading scorer, Sarah Charles (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris), also tallied her first career three-goal game, registering her 7th,  8th and 9th goals of the year. Sophomore Melissa Boyd (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) rounded off the Ranger scoring with her second tally of the fall in 60^th minute.

The Rangers will hit the road on Tuesday when they travel to Wayne, N.J. for a non-conference tilt with William Paterson. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m.
