Crusaders Pull Away in Second Half

Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. (January 5, 2013) – A three-point game at halftime turned into a 72-49 win for Susquehanna (5-8, 1-1 Landmark) this afternoon. The Drew men's basketball team falls to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in Landmark Conference play.

The Rangers were within three points at halftime as Susquehanna took a 24-21 lead into the break, but were outscored in the second half 48-25. The Rangers were led by junior Jason Chornyei (Westerly, R.I./Cheshire Academy) who poured in a career-high 11 points. The Rangers struggled from the three-point line hitting just three of 18 attempts.

As a team the Crusaders out-rebounded the Rangers 44-37 and committed only 11 turnovers to Drew's 16. As a result, Susquehanna had 19 points off turnovers while the Rangers managed only eight all game.

Harley Sellinger and A.J. Green led the Crusaders with 12 points apiece. Dean pulled down a game-high seven rebounds. Susquehanna was 8-for-12 from the 3-point line in the second half and shot 51 percent from the floor.

The Rangers will return to Baldwin Gym on Wednesday to host Moravian College at 7:00 p.m.
