VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (March 12, 2013) – The Drew University men's tennis team competed against top notch competition on a three-match swing in Virginia Beach area over the weekend. The Rangers took on Christopher Newport, Virginia Wesleyan and Salisbury in a three-day span.

Hunter Lathrop (South Londonberry, Vt./Stratton Mountain School) had a hand in each of the two Ranger victories. Lathrop and partner
Vin Mahon (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North), defeated Spenser Bullock and Adam Owen, 8-4 in second doubles. Lathrop went on to win his singles matchin the second position, topping Drew Tomajczyk in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.

Hunter Lathrop. The freshman emerged with a 6-1, 6-4 victory in number two doubles. Senior
Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) and
Adam Clark (Fremont, Calif./John F. Kennedy) each had their singles matches go to three sets but eventually fell in the number one and four positions respectively. Lathrop and
Vin Mahon were edged at second doubles, 9-7.
