MADISON, N.J. (April 6, 2013) – The Drew men's tennis team improved to 3-0 in the Landmark Conference with an 8-1 victory over Goucher College (3-10, 0-3 Landmark) this afternoon.
The Rangers took two of three doubles matches and won all six singles matches to even their overall record to 5-5 on the season. Drew extended its unbeaten streak against conference opponents to 107 with the decisive victory.
Playing number one singles, senior 
Raul Smego (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Academia Cristo Rey) won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. He and doubles partner 
Vin Mahon (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) claimed an 8-0 shutout win in number two doubles.
Mahon, freshman 
Hunter Lathrop (South Londonderry, Vt./Stratton Mountain School) and 
Adam Clark (Fremont, Calif./John F. Kennedy) each recorded straight-set victories in singles play. Lathrop won his team best 10
th singles match of the season by defeating David Spivey, 6-4, 6-2 at the number two position.
Clark teamed up with 
Tommy Butschi (Tyler, Texas/New Braunfels) to win number three doubles, 8-2.
The Rangers will look to win their fourth conference match of the season on Wednesday, taking on Merchant Marine at 4:30 p.m. at home.
