Bethlehem, Pa. (March 22, 2014) – The Drew University men's tennis team (1-2, 1-1) dropped its first conference match of the season, 8-1 this afternoon to Moravian (5-4, 2-0).
Sophomore
Adam Clark (Fremont, Calif./John F. Kennedy) picked up the only Ranger win of the day. Clark played in the second slot in singles and defeated Moravian's John Wylie, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (12-10).
Rangers
Tommy Butschi (Tyler, Texas/New Braunfels) and
Vin Mahon (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) played in the first slot in doubles play this afternoon. The pair battled Moravian's Matt Tuorto and John Wylie to an 8-6 loss.
The victory this afternoon marked the first win for Moravian over Drew since 1996. The Rangers still hold the all-time series advantage 46-10.
Drew returns to action on Wednesday March 26 as they travel to New York for a non-conference match with Hunter College.
