MADISON, N.J. (Oct. 10, 2015) – The Drew University field hockey team dropped a Landmark Conference contest to The Catholic University of America, 8-0, on Saturday afternoon at Ranger Stadium.
Freshman goalkeeper
Ryann Callaghan saved a career-high 17 shots in the setback. The performance ranks fourth all-time among Ranger cage minders with the last 17-save outing coming in 2012.
Drew tried its hand at the cage when senior midfielder
Michelle Fallon exploded into the open field with room to run. She carved into the zone and whipped a shot that zipped wide, just past the left post.
The Cardinals netted their first goal in the 12
th minute and didn't look back.
Landmark Conference action rolls on as the Rangers ship out on the road for two games. They take on The University of Scranton, first, on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m.
