TOWSON, M.D. (Oct. 17, 2015) – Despite a late score from junior midfielder
Huma Sheikh, the Drew University field hockey team was set back on the road against Goucher College, 3-1, on a chilly Saturday afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper
Ryann Callaghan registered 20 saves in the contest, the third best performance in Rangers (1-12, 0-5) history. Callaghan bested her own career-high that she set just two games ago against Catholic.
Skeikh capitalized on a penalty corner from sophomore midfielder
Madi Sheetz and ripped a try into the cage to get the Rangers on the board in the 66th minute and make the score 3-1.
The Rangers (1-12, 0-5) tried four shots on the day, three of which came from Sheikh and the other, from Sheetz. The Gophers (9-4, 1-4) netted scores in the opening two minutes of either half, and one more for good measure with 28 minutes to play.
