ResultsWILKES-BARRE, Pa. (Oct. 24, 2015) – The Drew University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each dropped their 2015-16 season openers on Saturday afternoon at King's (Pa.) College.

The Monarchs defeated the Drew men, 123-56, while the King's women were victorious, 120-74.

On the women's side, the record-setting 4x200-yard medley relay team made their 2015-16 debut to lead off the meet. The foursome of
Jordan Jessup (back),
Lindsay Pearce (breast),
Kristin Zeigler (fly) and
Jenny Stein (free) was just edged in the race by three-tenths of a second, clocking in at 2:00.39 in second place for four dual meet points. The Monarchs gained nine points to start their dual meet off on the right note.

Jessup and Stein went on to lead the Rangers in compiling points in the dual meet, combining for four first place finishes in the individual events. Jessup picked up nine points for Drew by winning the 200-yard freestyle in 2:08.03. The junior piled on another nine points with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, hitting the wall at 1:06.50.

Stein, meanwhile, gave the Rangers a boost in the sprint freestyle events. She won the 50 free in 26.33 seconds, and followed up by taking the 100 free in 57.29 seconds.

The men were led by a freshman
Mack Fox, who pulled in 16 points in his collegiate debut. He won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:23.55 for nine dual meet points. He concluded his Drew debut with a second place finish in the 200 free (1:59.75) and a third in the 100 breast (1:10.63).
Personal progress was made across the board on Saturday as sophomores
Xumai He (100 breast, 50 free),Â
Mitchell Fry (50 free, 100 back) and
Louis Tighe (50 back) all set lifetime bests in their events.

The Rangers return to action for their 2015-16 home opener on Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:00 p.m. when they host Mount St. Mary College at F.M. Kirby Pool.
