MONTCLAIR, N.J. (Nov. 6, 2015) – Sophomore
Jenny Stein broke the Panzer Athletic Center Pool record in the one-meter dive as the Drew University men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued the 2015-16 season in a dual meet at Montclair State University on Friday evening.
Â
Stein scored a 237.50 in the one-meter diving event, the highest score on record at Montclair State's home pool. Her victory in the event garnered nine points in the dual meet, which the Rangers dropped 114-67 to the Red Hawks (3-2).

Junior
Jordan Jessup, the reigning Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, sustained her hot streak with two individual first place finishes and contributing to a first place 200-yard medley relay team. She won a 200-yard freestyle race for the third straight meet on the strength of a 2:05.94 time. Keeping the theme of forward momentum for Jessup, the junior again dropped time in the 200-yard backstroke (2:18.00) and won the event at a second straight dual meet.
Â
Jessup's 25.79-second freestyle leg in the 200 medley relay sealed the deal on first place and 11 points for the Rangers. Stein led off the relay with the backstroke, followed by junior
Lindsay Pearce's breaststroke and senior captain
Kristin Zeigler's butterfly.
Â
The men were paced by freshman
Mack Fox, who has been persistently shaving time off his performances during his young rookie career. In a close race in the 200-yard freestyle, Mack turned in a third place finish at 1:57.36, just two seconds behind the winner and the fastest 200 free time by a Drew swimmer this season.
Â
Junior
Peter Mari set the top time for Drew this season in the 1,000-yard freestyle, hitting the wall at 12:22.28 on Friday. The Rangers fell to the Red Hawks (2-2) by a final dual meet score of 108-53.
Â
The Drew squads are on a quick turnaround this weekend as they host their first Landmark Conference dual meet of the season on Saturday, Nov. 7 against Marywood University at 1:00 p.m. at the F.M. Kirby Pool.
