SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (Sept. 12, 2015) – The Drew University field hockey team fell in non-conference action in upstate New York on Saturday to Union College, 3-2.

Freshman goalie
Ryann Callaghan made 13 saves on the day, she tied a career-high that stood on the record book as the tenth highest single-game save total in program history.

Callaghan wasn't the only Ranger making saves. Sophomore midfielder
Michele Pozyc contributed three defensive saves on the day. Her career total stands at 24, six shy of the 21-year-old program record of 30 that was set by Deanna Gallagher

Senior midfielder
Michelle Fallon scored her seventh goal in the contest and led the way with nine shots, six of which were on goal. Drew's (1-4) first goal came from Pozyc who tried three shots in the setback. Sophomore midfielder
Madi Sheetz took four shots.

Union (2-1) scored first when it put a ball on in traffic and someone got a stick on it. The deflection goal came in the 16
th minute.

Just two minutes after Pozyc rang the post with a try, she capitalized on a penalty corner, tying up the score just seven minutes before halftime. She corralled the corner, and put a shot on from 10 yards out.

Out of the half, Union exploded, attacking the cage with constant shots. Eventually they earned a penalty stroke and converted, going up 2-1 in the 42
nd minute.

In the 55
th, Fallon got active in front of the net. With the goalie screened, Fallon batted in a shot from junior midfielder
Huma Sheikh, knotting it up once again, 2-2.

Just three minutes later, however, Union regained the lead with the first of a 6-shot flurry within one minute. Their third goal would stand up as the difference maker.

The Rangers return home for a date with William Patterson University. The non-conference contest is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start on Tuesday, Sept. 15
