MADISON, N.J. (Sept. 13, 2015) – The Drew University women's soccer team dropped its Fall Festival finale on Sunday afternoon after Rutgers-Camden came from behind with two goals in the final 12 minutes to edge the Rangers, 3-2, at Ranger Stadium.

Senior captains Melanie Santos and Emma Campbell each scored their first goals of the season in the first half, giving Drew (2-3) a 2-1 advantage at the halftime intermission. However, the Scarlet Raptors (2-2) equalized in the 79th minute and then swiftly took the lead in the 81st to sneak away with a road victory at the 14th annual autumn tournament.

Junior goalkeeper Andee Higgins made five saves in the setback, including two back-to-back diving stops in the 30th minute to keep Drew ahead, 2-1.

The Rangers struck first on Sunday with a tally in the 15th minute. Senior midfielder Allison Rastelli played a short through pass to Santos, who quickly fired a shot from eight yards out that beat the Rutgers-Camden keeper to her right. The lead was short-lived as the Scarlet Raptors knotted the score at 1-1 just two minutes later.

Persistent shooting gave the Rangers another lead in the 27th minute when four quick-fire shots resulted in Campbell's first goal of 2015. Freshman Meghan McDermott started the flurry with a shot that rang the post and bounced back into play on to the foot of senior midfielder Shannon Slowey. She blasted two shots that were blocked by the Raptors' defense, the second of which fell to Campbell, who put the ball away for the 2-1 lead.

Chances were limited for both sides in the second half, with the Raptors outshooting the Rangers 6-4. Two of those shots were of the breakaway variety, something the Raptors excelled in on Sunday. All three of their one-on-one situations with Higgins were converted into goals.

The Rangers return home on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 4:30 p.m. against Ramapo College at Ranger Stadium.
