SELINSGROVE, Pa (Oct. 15, 2016) — The Drew University field hockey team traveled and fell to Susquehanna University in Landmark Conference action on Saturday afternoon, 3-0.
By the Numbers: The Rangers have yet to win a road conference game. Their overall road record falls to 1-3 after Saturday's setback. The Rangers' overall record is now 3-9. Meanwhile, Susquehanna improves to 11-2 on the year, 4-1 in the Landmark.
Top Performers: Senior forward
Huma Sheikh tried a team-high three shots, two of which forced a save from the River Hawk goalie. Also registering shots on goal, and adding to the team total of five, were freshman midfielder
Sami Strathern and freshman defender
Madyson Griswold.
Turning Point: Susquehanna's first goal came in the 22
nd minute of play. The score would prove to be plenty to put them over but they added two more in the closing minutes of the first half for good measure.
Other Highlights: Sophomore goalkeeper
Ryann Callaghan turned in a clean sheet in the second half of play, adding three saves to a flawless latter 35 minutes. Callaghan totaled seven saves in the game.
Next Up: On Monday, the Rangers face the annual Battle of Madison Avenue with FDU-Florham. It takes place at Ranger Stadium at 4:30 p.m. and is the last non-conference home game of the year.
