SELINSGROVE, Pa. (Nov. 5, 2016) – Junior Jenny Stein broke her own one-meter diving record and freshman Mal Vishwanath set two new school records as the Drew University men's and women's swimming & diving teams each went 1-1 at the Susquehanna University tri-meet with Marywood University.

By the Numbers: The Landmark Conference tri-meet featured a win for both the men's and women's teams over Marywood, with the men going over 145-99 and the women prevailing 149-128. The Ranger men fell 169-98 to host Susquehanna, while the women dropped the decision, 182-89, to the six-time defending Landmark champions River Hawks.

Top Performers: Stein capped a successful day by increasing her school record on the one-meter diving board (six dives). Her score of 275.55 was good for first place points on Saturday, and broke her own previous school record of 255.45 set as a freshman in 2014.

Vishwanath now owns three school records just two meets into her collegiate career. She won the 200-yard freestyle in a new school record time of 1:54.90, surpassing the previous best mark of 1:56.80 set by Mariel Schwinger in 2011. The sensational rookie followed up with yet another school record in the 500-yard freestyle, a first place finish in 5:10.01. Her time was 19 seconds ahead of the second place finisher and edged the old school record of 5:11.55, also set by Schwinger in 2011.

On the men's side, freshmen Jack Mahoney, Michael Ma and John Rinald took home first place points for the Rangers. Mahoney won the 200-yard freestyle in a thrilling finish, out-touching a Susquehanna swimmer by two-hundredths of a second. Ma was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.25, nearly six seconds ahead of the competition, and the 100-yard butterfly in 54.46. Rinald was the winner in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:22.31.

Other Highlights: Senior Jordan Jessup won the 200-yard backstroke, the event in which she holds the school record, in 2:15.46. Freshman Stephanie Cushman made it a Drew 1-2 finish with a second place time of 2:16.20.

Sophomore Mack Fox won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:04.88, and freshman Ryan Underwood made in a 1-2 finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a 56.43 behind Ma.

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Stein, Vishwanath, Jessup and freshman Jamie Riffel won the event in 3:44.86, less than a second away from the school record.
