Connecticut College Downs Drew on 4th Quarter Rally

MADISON, N.J. (Dec. 10, 2016) - An early offensive attack was not enough for the Drew University women's basketball team as they fell to Connecticut College, 61-51, on Saturday afternoon in Baldwin Gymnasium.

By The Numbers: The Rangers drop to 3-6 overall as the Camels improve their overall record to 8-2. Connecticut College women's basketball is now 4-1 in the month of December.

Top Performers: Senior forward Sam Lane paced the Rangers with 17 points, adding two 3-point field goals and seven rebounds. Senior guard Courtney Trzasko poured in 11 points shooting 2-of-4 from behind the three-point arc with three assists. Senior guard Michaela Keegan chipped in seven points and led the team with nine rebounds, to go with smothering defense. She forcing four turnovers by way of the steal.

Turning Point: After a closely contested first half, the Camels' quick passing and strong presence in the paint became too much for Drew in the fourth period. Leading 45-41 at the end of three, Connecticut used their height and strength under the basket to pull down offensive rebounds and score second chance points, along with efficient three-point shooting to pull away from the Rangers down the stretch.
