Men's Lacrosse Falls to Scranton in Landmark Debut

MADISON, N.J. (March 19, 2016) -- The Drew University Men's lacrosse team dropped its first landmark conference game of the year, 10-2, on Saturday afternoon against Scranton University.

The Rangers (1-4, 0-1), after falling behind by four began to chip away in the second quarter. First, freshman midfielder Thomas Garner cut into the zone and flipped in a score. Right after that, senior attacker Seth Mansfield used a lead pass from freshman midfielder Eduardo Palmieri to get one goal closer. Drew trailed Scranton (7-1, 1-0) by a score of 4-2 with five minutes left in the first half.

The Royals pulled away after those Rangers scores and went into the final period leading 7-2 before they added three more in the fourth.

Lacrosse will alternate non-conference and conference games for a while. The next game will take place at home on Tuesday, March 22nd at 7:00 p.m. against Centenary (N.J.) College.
