Drew Women's Lacrosse Falls at Stockton, 11-7

GALLOWAY, N.J. (March 29, 2016) – Junior midfielder Morgan Mason's sixth hat trick of the season paced the Drew University women's lacrosse team in an 11-7 loss in non-conference action at Stockton University on Tuesday evening.

Top Performers: Mason scored the first and last goals of the contest as part of her hat trick, sophomore midfielder Juliana Strazulo scored a goal and added two assists, and sophomore midfielder Maddie Spiess increased her team-leading goal total to 24 with a tally in the second half to cut the Rangers' deficit to two goals.

The Turning Point: Following Mason and sophomore midfielder Nicole Kinney's back-to-back goals to put Drew (2-7) up 2-0 five minutes into the contest, the Ospreys (7-0) helped themselves remain unbeaten in 2016 by scoring six unanswered goals to close the first half up 6-2.

Other Highlights: Junior attacker Kelly Dwyer scored a free position goal to open the scoring in the second half, followed 41 seconds later by a Mason goal to make it 6-4 in favor of Stockton. Another four-goal run by the Ospreys gave the home squad an 11-5 cushion before Strazulo and Mason closed out the game's scoring. Freshman goalkeeper Miranda Czymek made her collegiate debut in between the pipes and made four saves and picked up four ground balls.

Stat Sheet: Strazulo caused two turnovers against Stockton and with a team-high 25 this season, has caused at least two in each contest to rank second in the category in the Landmark Conference. Spiess won a game-high four draw controls, but Drew lost the game-long battle for the draw, 11-9. Stockton also held slight advantages in groundballs (14-12) and turnovers (17-15).

Up Next: The Rangers continue a three-game stint away from Madison on Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 p.m., when they visit The Catholic University of America for a Landmark Conference tilt in the Nation's Capital.
