MADISON, N.J. (April 12, 2016) - Led by a personal best four goals from junior attacker Theresa Shafron, the Drew University women's lacrosse team defeated Farmingdale State College, 20-6, earning its second straight victory and sweeping the two-game home stand.

Top Performers: Junior midfielder Morgan Mason matched a career-high with a five goal performance and Shafron followed behind with four. Mason now leads the team with 42 points and ranks fourth in the conference in points. Sophomore midfielder Juliana Strazulo registered a team-high six points with four goals and two assists. Strazulo also caused three turnovers, putting her at the top of the conference leaderboards with 38.

Turning Point: For the second straight game, the Rangers opened the scoring within the first 30 seconds. This time, it was Shafron who netted the game's first conversion off of an assist from sophomore attacker Sage Johnson. Johnson's assist was one of three for the attacker, she would finish with five points, tying a career high. Just a minute later, Shafron scored again. The attacker quickly registered her hat trick with 24 minutes left in the very first half, and gave Drew a 4-0 lead to start the game.

Other Highlights: The Rams made a run at the tie toward the end of the first half. With 15 minutes to go, they trailed by just three. But Drew exploded for a 7-1 run highlighted by three goals from Mason to pull away for good.

Stat Sheet: The Rangers outshot the Rams 40-22. Drew began the contest on a 6-0 run highlighted by Shafron's hat trick.

Up Next: After scoring 38 goals in their last two games, the Rangers will look to transfer some of this positive momentum into conference play on the road. On Saturday, April 16th, the Rangers embark on their final road trip of the year, a pivotal 3-game set that begins with a conference battle with Elizabethtown College.
