MADISON, N.J. (April 20, 2016) – The Drew University men's tennis team hosted The United States Merchant Marine Academy (5-4, 3-3) on Wednesday in a Landmark Conference dual match, and fell by a score of 7-2 with three singles matches going three sets.

Top Performers: Senior
Adam Clark won at second singles in dominating fashion, 6-0, 6-0, to improve his team-leading win total in Landmark matches to three for the Rangers (6-9, 1-5). Junior
Nick Lantieri was victorious in one of the three matches that went the distance. After falling 6-2 in the first set, he defeated his No. 4 singles opponent 7-5 in the second and 10-6 in the superbreaker for the win.

Close Calls: With the match clinched, first and fifth singles matches both played superbreakers. At No. 1, Vemulapally bounced back 6-4 after dropping the first set by the same score, but was edged 10-8 in the third. Freshman
Chris Thompson won the first set, but dropped the next two 6-4 and 10-3.
