NEW YORK, N.Y. (April 28, 2016) – The Drew University softball team wrapped up 2016 non-conference play on Thursday afternoon with a doubleheader split at Hunter College. The Rangers (13-21) won the opener, 5-3, before falling to the Hawks (14-14) in Game 2 in five innings, 11-3.

Top Performers: Junior pitcher
Emma Agostini was victorious on the mound for Drew in Game 1, scattering seven hits over seven innings of work with three runs (two earned), three walks and four strikeouts. Agostini supported her own start offensively with a two-run single in the top of the fourth inning. She was 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in the win.

With the bases loaded and the Rangers down 7-0 in the fifth inning of Game 2, sophomore
Heather Ronchi ripped a bases clearing double to increase her RBI total to 25.

Brooke Adams led off with a single, her second of the game, before Agostini drew her walk. Following a productive out advancing the runners by sophomore
Lauren Mastropierro, Adams and Agostini both scored on a passed ball and a subsequent error on the play.

Meghan McGuire was the only Ranger to hit in both contests; and freshman first baseman
Cara O'Leary picked up a hit in Game 2 to run her average to .357, good for third on the squad.
