TOWSON, Md. (April 30, 2016) – The Drew University men's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2016 season with a 12-9 loss at Goucher College on Saturday afternoon.
Top Performers: Playing in his final game as a Ranger, attacker
Ben Ludeman scored the third hat trick of his career with a season-high three goals all coming in the fourth quarter. Freshman attacker
Ryan D'Alessandro finishes tied for the team lead in goals with 17 with another three on Saturday, and added two assists for a team-high 26 points this spring.
Junior goalkeeper
Teddy Sweeney tied a career-high with 20 saves, and for the second time, tied for fifth for most saves in a game in the Drew record books. Junior defender
Michael Lloyd capped another high-caliber season with three ground balls and four caused turnovers. Senior
Kevin Cleary called it a career in style, winning 16-of-22 faceoffs to run his season winning percentage to .591 while picking up a team-high seven ground balls.
Turning Point: The Gophers (9-6, 1-5) took a 3-0 lead after one quarter, but Drew fought back in the second, sandwiching a pair of back-to-back goals around a Goucher tally to win the period 4-1 and tie the game at 4-4 heading into halftime. Two goals by D'Alessandro, a tally by junior midfielder

Steven Cola assisted by Lloyd with 50 seconds left in the half knotted things up.
Other Highlights: Cotroneo added a second goal in the third period off a feed from Cola. It was the second time in the contest he followed a D'Alessandro goal with one of his own, and the Rangers then trailed 8-6 with 4:12 left in the third.
Key Stats: All nine of Drew's goals were assisted on Saturday, the second time this season 100 percent of the Rangers' goals were fed by an assist. Goucher outshot the Rangers, 43-32, and also held an advantage in the ground ball battle, 35-27. Cola's man-up goal in the third was the one in a 1-for-5 mark in extra-man opportunities against Goucher. The Gophers, meanwhile, were 1-for-3 in man-up situations.
