Drew Edged by E-Town, 1-0, in Conference Opener

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 24, 2016) — The Drew University women's soccer team got down early on the road against Elizabethtown College, 1-0, and the score stood for the entirety of Saturday afternoon's contest.

Top Performers: Senior goalkeeperRyan Jackson made two saves while senior midfielder Jordan Snodgrass took a shot on goal in the setback. Junior midfielder Erin Connors took a team-high two shots.

Turning Point: The Blue Jays opened things up with a header just three minutes into the game. The score was enough to take them wire-to-wire and lock in the win.

Stat Sheet: The Rangers lined up for five corner kicks, took five total shots, and were never whistled offside.

By the Numbers: With the win, E-Town has gotten off on the right foot in conference play, starting their season with a 1-0 record. The Blue Jays made it to the postseason last year and will look to repeat using Saturday's win as momentum. Meanwhile, the Rangers lost last season's conference opener, 1-0, as well, but came back to win their next game. They'll hope for similar luck against Moravian College next Saturday.

Up Next: With the conference opener behind them, the Rangers take on a non-conference opponent in Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, September 28th. Conference play returns on Saturday, October 1st against Moravian College.
