Drew Suffers Non-Conference Loss at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -  On Tuesday evening, the Drew University field hockey team began a three-game road trip with a visit to DeSales.  The Rangers (0-9), however, dropped a 5-0 decision to the Bulldogs (8-3) at the DeSales Turf Field.
 
DeSales scored just 90 seconds into the game and held a 3-0 lead at halftime.  The Bulldogs also got an early goal in the second half before tallying another in the 47th minute to cap the scoring in the 5-0 victory.
 
Joie Slossar (Woodbury, Conn.) (0-1) made her first career start in goal and registered 14 saves.  Kate Todero (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) added a defensive save, while Madi Sheetz (Macungie, Pa.) recorded a shot on goal.
 
Kylie Honnick-Payne had a goal and two assists for DeSales.  Chelsea DeFrancisco notched a goal and an assist, while Christie Hansen, Madison Brader and Andrea Baldus each contributed a goal.  DeSales goalkeeper Katarina Polyviou (8-3) tallied one save.
 
The Rangers (0-2 Landmark) return to Pennsylvania on Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. matchup with Landmark Conference rival Juniata (6-4, 1-1 Landmark).
