Top Performers
• With a single in Game 1, senior third baseman
Jonathan Rodrigues reached the 100-hit plateau for his career. The senior celebrated by reaching base four times in the twin bill, scoring and driving in a run in Game 2.
• In the fifth inning of Game 2, junior second baseman
Isaiah Mateo went yard, sending the offering off the right field scoreboard. The 2-run shot was good for his second career homer, as his first also came against Catholic last season and was also a 2-runner. On the day, Mateo posted a 4-for-6 day, driving in three of the Rangers' six runs.
• Sophomore pitcher
Jendy Castillo came out of the pen in Game 2 to twirl four scoreless frames to help minimize the damage. The southpaw notched three strikeouts and allowed three hits without walking a batter.
• Senior catcher
Mike Miraglia started both contests, though you wouldn't know it by glancing at his at-bats. The backstop showed great discipline, walking in all four plate appearances in Game 1, and adding another walk in the second contest. He now sports an impressive .527 on-base percentage, easily the best on the team.
• Senior pitcher
Tommy Broyles made the short walk over from first base to hurl two scoreless frames in the tail end of Game 1.

Game 1 Highlights
• With Drew trailing 3-2 in the third inning of Game 1, Rodrigues made things complicated when, with a runner in scoring position, he pounded one into Doc Young's unforgiving and choppy infield, forcing an error and allowing a run to score. Mateo followed that with a sharp single up the middle to tie things up at 3-3.
• Rodrigues made his presence felt again when he laced a single through the 5-6 hole in the final inning of the day to slightly trim the deficit they faced throughout the contest.
