LEESBURG, Fla. (March 6, 2017) – The Drew University softball bats came alive during Day 2 with 18 hits at the PFX Spring Games in Florida, but the Rangers dropped another pair of games to SUNY Oneonta, 6-5, and Coast Guard Academy, 13-6, on Monday.

By the Numbers
The Rangers start the season 0-4 with losses against the Red Dragons and Bears, who both improve to 2-1 in the Sunshine State. Drew's offense got a kick-start on Monday with 11 hits in Game 1, seven more in Game 2 and 11 total runs.

Top Performers
• Senior outfielder
Phylicia Pellot takes over the team lead in batting average with a 5-for-7 day at the plate, including a 4-of-4 mark against Oneonta. Pellot finished the day with a run scored and a stolen base.
• Junior outfielder
Brooke Adams batted 3-for-4 against Coast Guard and crossed the plate three times with an RBI and a steal during Monday's doubleheader.
• Junior center
Heather Ronchi picked up a hit in each contest with an RBI against Oneonta.

The Difference
• Drew scored four straight runs spanning the first through fifth innings to take a lead behind senior starting pitcher
Emma Agostini. Oneonta promptly tied it and retook the lead in the top of the sixth and held on for the win in the seventh. Agostini pitched well, allowing seven hits over seven innings and three earned runs, but was hurt by five walks.
• The Rangers took another lead in Game 2 after scoring five runs in the top of the third, which was started by freshman third baseman
Meghan Beyer's first collegiate hit for two RBIs. Similar to Oneonta, the Bears were quick to answer with four in the bottom of the frame to trail by one run. They turned the rally into 12 unanswered runs to end the game.

Game 1 Highlights
• Junior outfielder
Lauren Mastropierro got the run scoring started with an RBI groundout, followed by another run-scoring groundout by Ronchi to tie the game at 2-2 in the third.
• Drew benefitted from two unearned runs on an error and wild pitch to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth.

• Adams put Drew up 1-0 in the top of the first on an RBI single. Mastropierro, senior shortstop
Meghan McGuire and sophomore
Cara O'Leary then recorded RBIs in the five-run fifth to go up 6-1.
