MADISON, N.J. (April 29, 2017) – The Drew University men's and women's tennis teams head into the 2017 Landmark Conference Championships with a head of steam as both won squads won their regular season finales over Juniata at home on Saturday.
 
The women finish the Landmark Conference schedule undefeated at 7-0 with a 9-0 sweep of the Eagles, and head into the postseason with 14 straight dual match wins and a 14-1 overall record. The men beat the upcoming No. 1 seed in the Landmark tournament, Juniata, by a score of 5-4, and are now 16-3 to finish the regular season.
 
Ashley Camel, 
Ty Ty Witten, 
Jessica Cheng and 
Megan Jarvis all won singles matches in straight sets. Camel and Witten won at first doubles, 8-4, and Cheng teamed with 
Maria Navas Espinal for an 8-1 victory at second doubles.
 
On the men's side, 
Salikh Gilmutdinov, 
Vineet Vemulapally and 
Geoffrey Diehl picked up singles wins in straight sets, while Vemulapally and Diehl won a tight one at first doubles, 9-7, and Gilmutdinov worked with 
Will Morrison for an 8-3 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
 
The women had already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Landmark postseason, and will host The University of Scranton in the semifinal round on Wednesday, May 3 at 4 p.m. in Madison.
 
The men are the No. 4 seed and travel to top-seeded Juniata on Tuesday, May 2 at 3 p.m.
