MADISON, N.J. (April 8, 2017) – The Drew University women's lacrosse team dropped a Landmark Conference contest to Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon after the Blue Jays quickly expanded upon a one-goal second half lead to pull away and hand Drew a 13-9 loss at Ranger Stadium.
By the Numbers: Drew's record drops to 7-6 and 0-2 in the conference while Elizabethtown rises up to 9-2 overall with a perfect 3-0 conference clip.

Turning Point: Drew found itself within one goal of the Blue Jays at 7-6 with 24 minutes to go in the game. But the Jays, sensing that they had their backs to the ropes, moved up the field with force using more attacks than usual. E-town quickly struck twice, silencing the bit of noise the Rangers had created and effectively placing a cushion on its lead down the stretch.

• A three-goal run spanning the halftime intermission got Drew back into the game. Kinney brought the Rangers within one goal at 7-6 with her unassisted blast 43 seconds after Fiorini's goal.
• Following two quick answers from E-town, Mason started a free position attempt by tossing a pass to an open DiDario, who slotted a shot into the net as Drew trailed the Jays 9-7 midway through the final half.
• Kinney's free position goal with 4:35 left disrupted a three-goal run for the Blue Jays to put the game just out of reach down the stretch.
Stat Sheet
• The difference in this one was time of possession, a component chronicled by E-town's impressive 17 draw controls that they earned while holding Drew to just six.
• Drew scored on nine of the 12 shots it put on net and E-town managed to get 20 of their 26 shots goalward.
• The Jays scooped 17 groundballs to Drew's 14.
