MADISON, N.J. - The Drew University field hockey team concluded the 34
th Annual Drew Fall Festival on Saturday. On a rainy early September evening that felt more like mid-autumn, the Rangers (0-2) dropped a 6-0 decision to Lebanon Valley (2-0) at Ranger Stadium.
Lebanon Valley's Maddie Fox opened the scoring at the 10:53 mark, and the Dutchmen added three more tallies before halftime. The Dutchmen scored twice in the second half to finish off the 6-0 victory.
Despite the loss,
Ryann Callaghan (Fountain Valley, Calif.) (0-2) was stellar in goal for the Rangers, stopping 17 Lebanon Valley shots.
Michele Pozyc (Clark, N.J.) added a defensive save.
Cecile Kat recorded a hat trick and added an assist for the Dutchmen. Karli Alichwer contributed two goals, while Fox finished with a goal and an assist. Starting goalkeeper Victoria ByDeley (2-0) earned the win, and Nikki Willi made two saves in relief.
Drew continues its season-opening three-game homestand on Wednesday night with a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Widener (0-1).
