Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rangers Dominate Cross-Town Rival Devils

MADISON, N.J. – The Battle of Madison turned out to be a one-sided affair.  The Drew University men's soccer team (3-0-0) scored six times in the first 16 minutes en route to a 9-2 rout of cross-town rival FDU-Florham (0-3-0) at Robert Shields Field on Wednesday night.  With the victory, their third straight over the Devils, the Rangers improved to 3-0-0 for the second straight year.

Nate Race (Bridgewater, N.J.) began the onslaught just 31 seconds into the game, and Andy Imoh (Sugar Land, Texas) found the back of the net 1:41 later.  Imoh then assisted on a goal by Aidan Cserhat (Taos, N.M.) that made it 3-0 in the 10th minute.  Cserhat was just getting started.  He was credited with an unassisted tally two minutes later before completing a natural hat trick 45 seconds after that.  Cole Bosch (Fair Lawn, N.J.) capped the scoring flurry with his strike at the 16-minute mark.

Drew led 6-1 at halftime, then extended its advantage to 8-1 on a pair of Dan Cossu (Malverne, N.Y.) goals 90 seconds apart just before the hour mark.  John Pina (Clifton, N.J.) made it 9-1 Rangers with his first collegiate tally before FDU Florham's Anthony Pares converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to complete the scoring.

Eleven different Rangers recorded at least one point in the game.  Imoh distributed two assists to go along with his goal, while Bosch finished with a goal and an assist.  Cserhat (3) and Cossu (2) both had multi-goal games, as Drew has scored 20 times in its first three contests.  Jason Adamo (Roxbury, N.J.) (3-0-0) earned the win after playing the first 55:53 in goal, and Stephan Lukianov (South River, N.J.) tallied three saves in relief.

Dimitris Stoupas was credited with other FDU-Florham goal, and Brian Chiarello notching an assist.  JT Brentschneider (0-3-0) and Liam Ryan each made four saves in goal.

Up next for the Rangers are a pair of games at Rutgers-Newark's Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic this weekend.  Drew takes on Elmhurst (2-0-1) at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday before squaring off with Whitman (0-2-0) at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
