MADISON, N.J. –
Trailing by eight points entering the fourth quarter against the 17th-ranked team in the country, the Drew University women's basketball team rallied for its sixth straight win on Saturday afternoon.  The Rangers (11-4, 3-1 Landmark) moved into a tie for first place in the Landmark Conference with a 46-44 win over previously-unbeaten Juniata (14-1, 3-1 Landmark) at Baldwin Gymnasium.  Drew held Juniata to just 23.3 percent (14-of-60) shooting in the game, including 1-for-18 (5.6 percent) in the final period.

Juniata held a 37-29 advantage after three quarters, and it was 39-33 in favor of the Eagles midway through the fourth when Hailey Stine (Annandale, N.J.) sank a layup to start an 8-1 run that put Drew in front, 41-40, with 3:20 remaining.  After a Juniata free throw tied it, neither team scored for more than two minutes until Moe Davis Campbell's (Franklin, N.J.) layup with 29 seconds left gave the Rangers a 43-41 lead.

With the shot clock off, the Eagles held for one shot, but Morgan Instone missed a jumper and Michaela Keegan (Mendham, N.J.) grabbed the rebound.  Julia Ramos (Hazlet, N.J.) then hit a pair of free throws to make it a four-point game, 45-41, with eight seconds to go.  After Bethany Spencer hit a three on the other end to bring Juniata within one, Keegan was fouled with 1.9 seconds remaining.  She missed both foul shots, but the Eagles were called for a lane violation on the second, giving her another shot.  This time, Keegan converted (for her only point of the game), putting Drew in front 46-44.

The Eagles called timeout and advanced the ball into the frontcourt looking for a game-tying shot.  However, Instone's jumper at the buzzer was off the mark, and Drew held on for its second straight two-point victory.

Stine tallied a game-high 15 points, while Davis Campbell had 10 points to go along with six rebounds.  Ramos finished with seven points, three assists and five steals, and Keegan grabbed nine boards.  Sarah Henig (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) added seven rebounds and three assists.  The Rangers shot 27.5 percent (14-of-51) from the floor, 35.7 percent (5-of-14) from three-point range, and 68.4 percent (13-of-19) at the charity stripe.

It was a low-scoring contest throughout, as Juniata led 11-9 after the first quarter before Drew outscored the Eagles 11-5 in the second quarter to take a 20-16 advantage into the locker room.  The game was tied 27-27 midway through the third period when Juniata went on a 10-2 run to build an eight-point, 37-29 cushion entering the final frame.

Spencer led the Eagles with 12 points, and she also contributed six rebounds and three assists.  Instone and Gracie Stauffer each posted seven points and seven boards, as Juniata held a 44-43 edge on the glass.  Instone also had four blocks, while Stauffer recorded three blocks.  Rachael Anstine added nine rebounds for the Eagles, who went 6-for-27 (22.2 percent) from downtown and 10-for-18 (55.6 percent) at the free throw line.

Drew, which is tied for the top spot with Juniata and Scranton, returns to action on Wednesday night with a 7 p.m. visit to Elizabethtown (8-6, 2-2 Landmark).
