SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton scored three goals in each half and the undefeated Royals blanked the Rangers 6-0 in a Landmark Conference (LC) women's soccer match Wednesday evening.
How it Happened: The Royals (11-0-1, 4-0 LC) struck early with an eighth-minute goal, then tacked on two more goals later in the opening half to assume its 3-0 halftime advantage. Scranton, which received votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division III poll, added insurance tallies in the 49th, 60th, and 74th minutes.
Stats Sheet: Scranton, which posted its sixth-straight shutout, finished with a 17-4 shot advantage and a 12-0 surplus in corner kicks. Drew was called for just four fouls while the Royals were whistled only twice. Sophomore
Madison Dudziec played 80 minutes in goal for the Rangers and made three saves while yielding five goals while
Brielle Castanheira played 10 minutes and allowed one goal.
