MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Drew University women's basketball team bolted to a 20-3 lead and never looked back, defeating Cedar Crest College 73-35 in a non-conference affair Friday evening at the College of Saint Elizabeth. All 11 players who entered the game scored a point for the Rangers (6-2), who pushed their winning streak to five.
How it Happened: Drew dominated on both ends of the court in the opening quarter, when it outscored the Falcons 25-5 and allowed just two field goals. The Rangers followed up with another big quarter, outscoring the visitors 21-8 in the second period to open up a 46-13 halftime advantage. Head coach
John Olenowski turned to his bench for much of the second half, when Drew outscored the Falcons 27-22. All 11 Rangers reached double figures in minutes played.
Top Performers: Numerous Rangers turned in big nights, including freshman forward
Sekya Campbell, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds over 20 minutes. Freshman guard
Brooke Timinski shot 4-for-5 from 3-point range en route to a season-high 12 points while sophomore forward
Erin Frederick posted nine points and five rebounds. Senior guard
Hailey Stine netted eight points while sophomore guard
Julia Ramos registered seven points and eight assists. Freshman forward
Cecelia Kracht contributed seven points, six rebounds, and three blocked shots.
Stat Sheet: Drew shot 44.9 percent for the game while holding Cedar Crest (2-8) to 20.3 percent shooting. The Rangers committed a season-low eight turnovers and dished out a season-high 20 assists.
