Rangers Earn Shutout Win Over Old Westbury

MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University women's lacrosse team posted its first shutout in more than four years on Wednesday afternoon. With a 19-0 triumph over Old Westbury (1-5) at Ranger Stadium, the Rangers (6-4) held their opponent off the scoreboard for the first time since a 15-0 win over Merchant Marine on March 22, 2014.

Drew scored its first goal less than 90 seconds in and held a 7-0 lead after 12 minutes. The Rangers led 15-0 at halftime before recording four second-half goals to account for the 19-0 final.

Six different Rangers had at least two goals in the game, while Madyson Griswold (Byram, N.J.) registered her first career tally. Allie DiDario (Whitehouse Station, N.J.) finished with four goals to go along with 10 draw controls. Jenna Morelli (Monroe Township, N.J.) also scored four goals, and she added seven ground balls and five caused turnovers. Sage Johnson (Timonium, Md.), meanwhile, posted three goals, three assists and three draw controls.

Mia Campanale (Branchburg, N.J.) notched three goals and two assists, and Lauren Cassella (Edison, N.J.) contributed two goals and two assists. In addition, Charly Nolting (Craik, Sask.) went for a pair of goals while also posting an assist four ground balls. Cailyn Breski (Bethlehem, Pa.) added four ground balls, as Drew doubled up Old Westbury 28-14 in that department. Goalkeeper Katiana Michalski (Eastchester, N.Y.) (6-4) stopped all five shots she faced.

Ashley Gugliuzzo (1-5) made five saves and picked up a team-best three ground balls for the Panthers. Cameron Isnardi controlled four draws, while Yaritza Carabello was responsible for causing three turnovers.

After playing four out of five at home, the Rangers hit the road for four of their next five contests. Drew (0-1 Landmark) begins the string by visiting Juniata (3-5, 0-1 Landmark) at 12 p.m. on Saturday. All six of the Rangers' remaining games are Landmark Conference tilts.
