Results: Men | Women

MADISON, N.J. –
The Drew University men's and women's tennis teams continued a five-match homestand on Tuesday by welcoming Delaware Valley to the Drew Tennis Complex.  The Ranger men (11-2) recorded a 9-0 win over the Aggies (2-9), while the Drew (7-3) also earned a 9-0 victory over Delaware Valley (4-10) in the women's match.

Ashley Camel (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and Ty Ty Witten (New Haven, Conn.) began the women's match by defeating Natalie Hoffman and Allie Vaccaro 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.  Maria Navas Espinal (Valle, Colombia) and Xylia Bruff (South Plainfield, N.J.) moved into the No. 2 doubles position and registered a 8-3 win over Melanie Mayhew and Erin Volov.  Cristina Riccio (New Providence, N.J.) and Christina Christodoulou (Branchburg, N.J.), meanwhile, topped Laken Henry and Chloe Dennerlein by an 8-2 count in the No. 3 spot.

In singles play, Camel earned a 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Hoffman in the No. 1 position.  Navas Espinal registered a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 win over Vaccaro at No. 2 singles, while Witten rallied after a tight first set to post a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Mayhew in the No. 3 spot.  Drew's No. 4, Ricco, topped Henry by a score of 6-4, 6-1, and Christodoulou defeated Dennerlein 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.  Kathryn Swenor (Basking Ridge, N.J.) completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Tess Hansler in the No. 6 singles match.

Drew started the men's match with a 2-0 lead because Delaware Valley was forced to default at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.  The Rangers won both of the remaining doubles matches by an 8-0 count.  Bryce Kennedy (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) and Will Morrison (San Diego, Calif.) played in the No. 1 position for the first time and defeated Ty Smith and Zack Harcom.  Meanwhile, Drew's No. 2 duo of Bryce Weizer (Orwigsburg, Pa.) and Karel Raska (Morristown, N.J.) beat Alex Vo and Ryan Lombardo.

At No. 2 singles, Morrison defeated Harcom by a score of 6-2, 6-1.  Drew earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory in each of the other four singles matches.  Vineet Vemulapally (Boca Raton, Fla.) improved to 8-1 in dual matches with his win over Smith in the No. 1 position, while Kennedy defeated Lombardo in the No. 3 spot.  Raska topped Vo at No. 4 singles, and No. 5 Lloyd Goldstein (New Providence, N.J.) beat Anthony Snyder.

On Saturday, Drew wraps up the homestand with a 1 p.m. matchup against Landmark Conference rival Elizabethtown.
