Kate Todero buried a penalty-stroke goal late in the first half and the Drew University field hockey team earned its first victory of the season with a 1-0 win at William Paterson in a non-conference affair Wednesday evening.

Mallory Holson was fouled when her stick was held at the line. Head coach
Jess Gray then called on Todero, who drilled in a well-placed shot into the lower-right side of the cage for her second collegiate goal.

Ryann Callaghan saved six shots to earn her second consecutive shutout. She stood tall early in the second half, making three of her saves in just over a minute. Sophomore defender

Carly Schiller have not allowed a goal in regulation over the last 173 minutes.
