MADISON, N.J. – Sophomore
Sarah Racine tied the game in the 73rd minute but Catholic University answered five minutes later and the Cardinals nipped the Rangers 2-1 in a hard-fought Landmark Conference (LC) women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Ranger Stadium.

Turning Point: With the score deadlocked at 1-1, Catholic's Bella Bertoncini headed a corner kick across the goal mouth and inside the right post with what held up as the game-winner. The Rangers (5-3-2, 0-1-1 LC) were held without a shot the rest of the way.

Trading Goals: The two sides nearly battled to a scoreless opening half before the Cardinals (5-3-2, 1-1 LC) took the lead in the 41st minute, as Maggie Moorcones lofted in a shot from 25 yards out. But with 17:39 left, Racine took a centering feed from senior
Alex Gilgorri and delivered a well-placed shot into the top-right corner for her team-leading seventh goal of the year.

Between the Pipes: Sophomore
Madison Dudziec tied a season-high with seven saves for the Rangers while Nina Fernandez turned aside eight shots for Catholic, including a diving stop in the game's opening minutes.

Stats Sheet: Drew held a 19-17 edge in shots while the Cardinals earned two more corners (6-4) and were whistled for one more foul (7-6) than the Rangers.

Up Next: Drew returns home on Wednesday, when it hosts William Paterson University at 7 p.m. in a non-conference showdown.
