Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Aldrich, Rangers Rally for Sixth Straight Win

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Senior forward Nate Aldrich posted 22 points and 15 rebounds and the Drew University men's basketball team earned its sixth-straight win, a 68-58 Landmark Conference (LC) victory at Elizabethtown College on Monday. The Rangers (14-3, 6-0 LC) rallied once again after trailing by 10 in the first half and by five at halftime. Drew, which now holds a two-game lead for first place in the conference standings, has overcome a halftime deficit four times during its current win streak.

How it Happened: The Rangers opened the game on a 7-0 run but found themselves in a 23-13 hole midway through the opening half. Drew answered with another 7-0 surge, however, to stay within striking distance, and the Blue Jays led just 33-28 at the half. An acrobatic, conventional 3-point play from senior guard Darius Reiter kicked off a 13-4 run early in the second half and gave the Rangers their first lead since early in the game. Drew then took the lead for good when junior guard Riley Collins scored five points in 11 seconds. After knocking down a jumper, senior guard Dan Roibal came up with a steal and fed the ball back to Collins, who drained a triple from the left elbow to make it 48-43. The Blue Jays cut it to one (48-47) with 10:14 left but were unable to reclaim the lead. Meanwhile, the Rangers dug in defensively and allowed just 11 points the rest of the way.

Top Performers: Aldrich netted a season-high in scoring and tied his season-best in rebounding. He has now accomplished five double-doubles for the year and 35 for his career. Collins contributed with 18 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while Reiter totaled 15 points and seven boards. Bryce Greene scored 17 points to lead Elizabethtown (8-8, 3-3 LC).

Stat Sheet: The Rangers shot 40.7 percent from the field and held the Blue Jays to a 32.8 percent mark. Drew out-rebounded E-town 42-39 and committed just 10 turnovers, tying their season-low.
