TOWSON, Md. - The Drew University men's tennis team lost at Goucher College by a score of 9-0 in its Landmark Conference opener on Saturday. 
The Gophers (9-3) have won the Landmark Conference each of the last three years.
The No. 2 doubles tandem of senior Will Morrison and freshman Billy MacDonald came out firing from the start, gathering a 3-0 lead on their opponents. However, they eventually lost an 8-4 decision.
At No. 1 doubles, senior Vineet Vemulapally and junior Geoffrey Diehl battled hard, but lost 8-3. The No. 3 doubles team of freshman Dan Blumenthal and junior Karel Raska fell by an 8-2 count.
Drew was winless in the singles flights; however, Diehl battled to a tiebreaker in the first set, before eventually losing 7-6, 6-0.
The Rangers continue Landmark Conference play when they take on Catholic University on Sunday in Washington, D.C.
