Softball Continues Spring Break Versus Clark, PSU Altoona

FT. MYERS, Fla. - The Drew University softball team battled hard in their second pair of games in Florida on Monday, but lost 6-0 to Clark University and 7-5 to Penn State Altoona.

Game One Highlights: After falling behind 4-0 after two innings, the Rangers (1-3) earned their first base runner in the third when Jasmine Vera tripled with one out. Drew's next opportunity came in the fifth when MaKayla Sosa stroked a one-out double.

Game Two Highlights: Drew scored its first run of the day when Renata Primmer smacked an RBI-single to make it 1-1 in the second. After the Lions scored three runs, Paxtan Perry drilled an RBI-double in the fourth to pull the Rangers within 4-2. Drew's biggest inning of the day came in the fourth, when it plated three runs - including a two-run double from Primmer - that made it a 5-5 game. However, Altoona pushed across a pair of go-ahead runs in the seventh. The Rangers put a runner on base in the bottom of the inning but lined into a game-ending double play. Primmer finished the game with two hits and three RBIs while senior Katie Grodski scored a pair of runs.

Next Up: The Rangers continue their southern swing with two games on Tuesday, taking on Elms College at 11 a.m. before facing Albion at 1 p.m.
