HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Drew University men's tennis team concluded its Spring Break trip to Hilton Head with a split on Friday.
The Rangers (7-3) defeated Albion College 8-1 before falling 7-2 to Milligan University, which competes at the NAIA Division II level.
Against Albion, Drew captured two of three doubles matches and all six singles contests. Freshman

Vineet Vemulapally won 8-2 at No. 2 while junior
Geoffrey Diehl and freshman
Jeremy Gottlieb won 8-5 at No. 3.
Vemulapally also earned a victory at No. 1 singles, rallying for a tight 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) win at No. 1.Â

Dan Blumenthal at No. 2 (7-5, 1-6, 7-6 [15-13]), sophomore
Bryce Kennedy at No. 3 (6-3, 6-1), junior
Lloyd Goldstein at No. 4 (6-4, 6-1), junior
Bryce Weizer at No. 5 (6-1, 7-6 [7-4]), and freshman
Billy MacDonald at No. 6 (7-5, 2-6, 7-6 [7-4]).
Versus Milligan, Vemulapally teamed with Diehl for an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles while junior
Karel Raska claimed a 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 win at No. 5 singles.
The Rangers take 18 days off from competition before visiting Rutgers-Newark on March 27.
