MAHWAH, N.J. - The Drew University baseball team pulled to within three run after trailing by seven, but Ramapo College held on to hand the Rangers a 12-9 setback in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon. Senior
Zach Lipshitz tied a school record with five walks for the Rangers (10-10) while sophomore
Cole Bosch drove in four runs.
Highlights
• It was a close game in the early going, as the lead changed hands three times over the first four-and-a-half innings. A two-run single from Bosch put the Rangers up 3-2 in the third, and RBI-singles from senior Joe Grossane and junior
Brian Dagostino in the top of the fifth put Drew ahead 5-4.
• Freshman starter
Teddy Hoxie left after four innings, yielding four runs on five hits. Ramapo (8-8) broke through with an eight-run sixth against a pair of Drew relievers to open up  a 12-5 lead.
• The Rangers refused to go quietly, however, and pushed across four runs on two hits and four walks in the eighth. Senior
Mike Pettigrew drilled a two-run single while Bosch also doubled in a run. But a pair of Ramapo relievers retired four of the last five Ranger batters to quell the rally.
