SCRANTON, Pa. – Three Rangers reached a career milestone and the Drew University baseball team earned a sweep at the University of Scranton, winning 4-3 in the opener before capturing a 5-1 decision in the nightcap. The wins propelled the Rangers (13-11, 5-3 LC) to their second-straight series victory.

• Senior
Zach Lipshitz became just the seventh player in program history to reach 100 hits with his seventh-inning single in the second game.
• Senior
Jayson Mitch stroked his 100th career hit with a second-inning single in the nightcap.
• Junior
Jeff Serin reached 100 career strikeout with the first of his eight punch-outs.

Game 1 Highlights
• Lipshitz provided instant offense in opener, slugging a three-run homer off Bobby Hegarty (1-1) in the third to put the Rangers up 3-0. It was the fourth-straight Landmark Conference game in which Lipshitz homered.
• The Royals (10-11, 6-4 LC) managed three runs versus junior starter
Pete Violante (2-1) and tied the game at 3-3 in the seventh, making it a nine-inning game by conference rules.
• After Hegarty blanked the Rangers from the the fourth through the seventh, the Rangers responded with the go-ahead run in the eighth. Junior
Max Felsenstein reached on an error, was bunted to second by sophomore
Cole Bosch, and scored on a single from junior
Matthew Lange.
• Seniors
Joshua Williams and
Harry Cohen came on to shut the door in relief, with each tossing a perfect inning. Cohen struck out the final two batters of the game while earning his first collegiate save.

Game 2 Highlights
• Drew struck early in the nightcap as well, using a five-hit second versus starter Matt Morrow (1-3) to assume a 4-0 lead. Lange, Mitch, junior

Eric DiPietro, all drilled singles before senior
Mike Pettigrew capped the inning with a two-run single of his own. Lange's single pushed his hitting streak to 15.
• Dagostino capped Drew's scoring with an RBI-single in the third, making it a 5-0 game.
• It was more than enough offense for junior starter
Jeff Serin (4-0), who retired the first 10 hitters and carried a no-hitter in the sixth inning, when Scranton led off with back-to-back singles. His shutout ended with a balk, but he retired the last six batters of the game to finish with his second complete game of the season and the fourth of his career.

Top Performers
• DiPietro and Lange each finished with three hits for the day while Mitch, Lipshitz, and Dagostino each recorded a pair of hits.
• Violante scattered six hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out three.
• Serin yielded just two hits and fanned eight without walking a batter.
