MADISON, N.J. - Drew University shut out host FDU-Florham in the first quarter, but the Devils pulled away over the final three periods to hand the Rangers a 6-0 defeat in a battle of cross-town rivals Wednesday evening.Â
Freshman
Bridget Kenny made a season-high nine saves for the Rangers. Haleigh Flukey scored four goals while Megan March made three saves for FDU (5-2).
The hosts outshot Drew 8-1 in the opening quarter, but that's when Kenny turned aside four shots to keep it a scoreless game after 15 minutes of play. However, the Devils broke through with three goals in the second quarter before tacking on three insurance tallies over the final two stanzas.
Freshman
Lauren Zultowski attempted three shots, including two that were on goal, to lead the Rangers offensively.
Drew (2-5) continues its four-game road trip on Friday, when it visits Delaware Valley University in another non-league outing starting at 7 p.m.
